Ugandan Handwoven Throw

Our handwoven throws are beautifully loomed from soft, 100% Ugandan cotton from locally sourced sustainable cotton certified by the Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) initiative. Woven by Ugandan artisans from our partner women co-operative for single mothers and youth. 

The goal of CmiA, an initiative of the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF), is to sustainably improve the living conditions of cotton farmers and their children in Sub Saharan Africa using the principle of helping people to help themselves through trade. 

We employ local Ugandan artisans and workers in fair-wage settings with opportunities for additional training, aiming to nurture a demand for their skills and empowering their communities to prosper.

Each piece is woven on traditional wooden looms, available in either a Herringbone or Overshot design.

Due to weaving design, please be careful when machine washing to avoid any snagging of the treads-place throw in a delicates bag or pillow case. 

Not suitable for the tumble dryer or dry cleaning
